We have a superb Kent Derby kicking off at Central Park on Wednesday evening, and the ante-post betting is an absolute minefield with the bookmakers going 7/1 the field, but there's one name that stands out and that is the Seamus Cahill-trained DROOPYS GOLD, who has won seven of his last eight races, and he could well continue that fine run of form in this mouth-watering event.

Beaten by Wildfire Lord in the Nottingham Puppy Classic, that pair will clash again in this competition, but it's Droopys Gold that is a far more prominent figure in the betting, and he showed in a trial stakes event for this race ten days ago that he will be a huge force in the Kent Derby, and with more improvement still to come over four bends then he can land victory in this 480m showpiece.

He can show blistering early pace from the boxes, and with winning form over 515m at Hove, the Cahill-trained star can relish this competition, which takes place on the same card as the Grand National, and with what should be a fairly straightforward first round, he can blossom in the event, and take the crown in front of the Sky Sports cameras on October 3.
