Sporting Dave and Trade Fudge battled it out for Coral Sussex Cup glory last year with the former coming out on top in a puslating final, but while both look to claim glory at Hove in the 2019 competition, we have opted to bypass the pair and look at an alternative for this year's event.

The Patrick Janssens-trained Seaglass Phantom has been impressing round Central Park in recent outings and showed terrific early dash to win on his last start, and if he can emulate that run at Hove then he could be a major contender in what should be an enthralling competition over the next few weeks.

A winner at Hove back in April, where he stormed to a three-and-three-quarter length victory, Seaglass Phantom will relish a return to the south coast venue, and if he can ping the lids during the competition then he could be a tough challenger to catch, so back him in the ante-post market.
