Southwood Jet will head into Saturday night's Star Sports & Arc Greyhound Derby final as the favourite, as the Richard Rees-trained superstar looks to go all the way through the competition without suffering defeat.

Drawn in trap one in the final, which is off at 9:11pm on Saturday evening at Nottingham greyhound stadium, Southwood Jet will face five notable rivals, with the most likely early challenge coming from the fast-starting Deerjet Sydney, who is sure to dart to the rail from the traps.

Pat Buckley's raider suffered his second defeat on the bounce in this year's showpiece event, but Deerjet Sydney has shown that he oozes his class when pinging the lids and getting on the front end, so he will certainly be a thorn in Southwood Jet's side.

With a strong Irish contingent contesting the final the ever-consistent Wolfe will be a major player from trap four and the Graham Holland-trained star will be aiming to frank the semi-final form with Deerjet Sydney, where he beat Buckley's charge with ease.

Third in that final eliminator, Smurfs Machine will be the sole middle runner for Seamus Cahill and adds yet more depth to the race, while sole wide Coolvanny Chick and Holland's second string Ballydoyle Valor complete the sextet bidding to etch their name on an illustrious roll of honour.
