Towcester Greyhound Stadium

Towcester is the newest greyhound stadium to be opened in the United Kingdom, as in December 2014 the track was opened by owner Lord Hesketh, and the greyhound track is situated on London Road, and is next to the horse racing track.

Greyhound racing takes place at Towcester three times a week, with action starting at 7:30pm every Tuesday, Friday and Saturday night, with the added incentive to visitors that there's no entry fee to get into the stadium, so it can often attract a decent crowd for some top notch action.

In 2017 Towcester were handed the prize asset of hosting the Greyhound Derby, which will move from its previous home at Wimbledon, and the stunning venue is set to enhance what is one of the leading competitions in the sport, which attracts the premier four-bend performers from all over the UK & Ireland.

The TV Trophy is another marquee competition at Towcester, which attracts the elite stayers from across the country, while Towcester also have the added bonus of being the regular track for champion trainer Mark Wallis, who has some of the finest greyhounds in his kennel, and he can often star with some of his top class greyhounds.

Races take place at Towcester over a number of distances with the 480m trip proven the most frequent, while some other notable distances that are run through a meeting include the sprints over 260m and the six-bend races over 655m, so there's usually a terrific spread of races on a scheduled card that can see the sprinters and the stayers take their chance.
