Triple Photo Finish
In January 2011 greyhound racing history was created at Romford Stadium in East London when a triple dead heat was announced.
At the end of the 925 metre race the dogs Killishin Masai from trap 1(who was odds of 4/1), Ayamzagirl from trap 5 (also at odds of 4/1) and Droopys Djokovic from trap 2 (an outsider at 12/1) all appeared to cross the finish line at the same time, 59.53 seconds. The photo finish camera at the track was unable to separate the three winners, the odds of this happening were over a million to one.
As unlikely the odds as this event happening the three dogs had almost had a similar event in the previous week at Hall Green Stadium in Birmingham. In that race Ayamzagirl managed to beat Killshan Masai whilst Droopys Djokovic was in third place..
The £500 prize fund was shared amongst the three winners. This meant that the bookies had to payout a third to any punters who had backed anyone of the three winners, as well as those punters that had placed a combination of more than one of them winning first place.
The three winners will each be given a special trophy by Romford Stadium to commemorate their achievement.
Triple Dead Heat Race
Punters were amazed by the triple dead heat.
Romford Rematch
A special rematch event occured on the 28th January 2011 where the three winners were allowed to comepete against each other with bookies giving each dog odds of 2/1. In the end Droopys Djokovic was the winner of the rematch.
